Corot: Extraordinary Landscapes (Discoveries (Abrams))

Corot: Extraordinary Landscapes (Discoveries (Abrams)) - Vincent Pomarede;Gerard De Wallens This is a marvelous little book, which I've been reading (paragraph at a time) for months. In very small format (it fits in the wide pocket of my pants), it is part of the Abrams Discovery series:

It contains a copious number of prints -- on glossy paper, in wonderful color. Many are too small to see, but others, especially details, are stunning. The pictures are accompanied by an intellegent commentary that is scholarly and everywhere very well informed, but never pedantic and free of jargon (the book is translated from the French, but the translation does not show at all).

An excellent edition for someone who wants a back-pocket book on this remarkable artist.
